How do I turn on the Robot?

You can turn on the Alpha by holding the robot by its backpack and long pressing the ON/OFF button. Hold down the button until the limbs LEDs start glowing. Please keep on holding the robot still until the arms and legs become stiff.

How do I turn off the robot?

There are more ways than one. The normal method is pressing and holding the ON/OFF button until it turns off. There is also a red button for emergency shutdown. Beware not to use the emergency shutdown button normally to turn off the robot!

How do I charge the robot?

Be sure to charge the robot with the added charger adapter before first use! Don't use charging adapters that were made for other products, as it may lead to malfunctions and loss of warranty! 

In which languages can I "talk" with the robot?

Currently only English language is supported.

What languages are available for the programming software/app?

The PC software and smartphone applications are both available in several languages. English and Hungarian included.

What surface should I use the robot on?

It's important that the surface on which the robot moves is smooth. Recommended surface materials: wood, glass, metal, stone. Not recommended materials: carpets or any wrinkling textile materials.

Where can I get the programming tools?

Both the PC and smartphone apps can be downloaded for free from mzxrobotics.hu, or can be found on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

How long does it take to charge the robot? How long does a charge last?

The very first charging time takes 2,5 hours. A fully charged battery lasts for 4 hours of standby time and 2 hours of activities.

Sometimes the app can't find the robot while trying to connect. Why?

Restart the robot and make sure to turn on the Bluetooth setting on the smartphone. The Bluetooth visibility has to be set to on with some android devices.

What can I do if the robot can't connect?

Restart the robot and the application to try again.

Can I use the robot without an internet connection?

Certain functions can be used offline. E.g. talking with the robot, creating movement commands, programming. However, an internet connection is necessary for updates, downloads and uploads.

Can I give a new "movement command" to the robot?

Of course! You download commands from the community on social media or you can make your own in the app.

How do I update the robot?

We recommend turning on the "Auto update" function in the app to automatically get the latest updates. Be careful not to turn the robot off while updating!

Where can I check if the robot was successfully connected through the application?

The robot makes a sound and the app notifies you about the successful connection.

Can I download new dance moves to the robot?

Yes, the official website refreshes the dance move list from time to time. After downloading and unpacking, places the HTS file in the memory card's "action" folder and put the mp3 file in the "music" folder.

How do I know when the smartphone is connected successfully?

The LEDs in the robot's eye start pulsating after a successful connection.

Which operating systems are compatible with the robot?

Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android operating systems are compatible. Just download the necessary software or app and let the fun begin!

Do you need a computer to use the robot?

No, you don't need a computer to use it, just download the right app (Android or iOS) to your smartphone or smart device. However, you will need a PC with Windows to program the Alpha1 PRO robot 3D.

Sometimes the robot loses its balance while moving or dancing. What is the reason?

The robot may have suffered structural damage. Contact customer service and return it for troubleshooting.

Some servos do not work properly, or release when I reset or restart the robot.

The battery charge level is probably low. Check and recharge if necessary. If the problem persists, it is possible that the servo cables are loose or shorted. If the problem persists after checking the cables, contact our customer service and return the robot for repair.

I tell the robot to dance and move, but it only plays music.

Check that the servo cables are properly connected.

The robot does not execute the instruction or the program script I downloaded from the "Community"

Possible causes: faulty script; low battery charge; servo cables are loose or shorted. (check!)

A part of the robot makes a rattling sound. What causes this?

The fault is probably caused by the servo. Please contact our customer service and return the robot for repair.

I have been charging the robot for a long time, but I still can't turn it on. What could be the problem?

Check that the charging cable is connected correctly. If the problem persists, contact our customer service and return the robot for repair.

One of the servo LED lights is not on. What is the reason?

Check that the servo cables are connected correctly at the point of failure.

Why does the LED light flash when charging?

Normally, the light on the back of the robot lights up red when charging and turns green when charging is complete. The flashing indicates a charging fault. Please contact our customer service and return the robot for repair.

Why can't I control the robot via PC software after connecting it to the PC?

It is possible that the robot is not connected correctly. Reconnect using a different USB cable. Another possible reason is that the robot's system has found a fault. Reboot and try again. Check that the battery is not low. Recharge it.

After the robot is switched on, some servos do not harden/tighten.

The robot's battery is running low. Please turn it off and charge it.

The robot cannot remain stable during various operations.

Some servos on the robot need to be recalibrated. Please contact customer service.

Once the robot is charged, the indicator light flashes or the red light stays on.

If there is a problem during loading, please send the robot to us for investigation.

After start-up, some of the robot's joints do not work.

A: The servo wires may be loose or shorted. Check the position and condition of the servo wires.

B: If the servo motor makes a humming sound, it needs repair.

Once connected to the computer, the robot cannot be controlled or programs downloaded.

A: The connecting cable may have come loose, reconnection is necessary.

B: The robot program has frozen, please restart or reload the desired program.

C: The robot battery is low, please recharge it first.

D: The program format is not correct. D.: The program is not in the correct format.

After downloading the program, the robot does not work properly.

A: You downloaded the program incorrectly.

B: The robot's battery is low, charge it first.

C: The servo wires may be loose or short-circuited. Check the position and condition of the servo wires.

The robot will not switch on after an initial charge after a longer period.

Please make sure that you have charged the robot with the correct adapter and that it is switched off. If it still does not start charging, please send the robot to us for inspection.

How often should the robot be charged and how long can it run on a single charge?

It can run for 60-80 minutes after a full charge and the charge itself takes 2-3 hours.

The robot cannot connect to your smartphone.

Restart the robot and the app.

Should the robot be on/off during charging?

It is recommended to switch off the robot.

Is it really so easy to treat that it is recommended from the age of 8?

Really! Thanks to the BML function, all you have to do is set the robot in the right position, press a button to save the setting and then play back what you've set. But you can also play back sequences of movements created and saved by others in the Alpha community, which can inspire you to create newer and newer programming.

Can the robot really move like a human?

Yes, the Alpha 1E is flexible, just like human movement. The shape mimicking the human body is driven by 16 servomotors with individual IP addresses and can perform complex movements such as push-ups, handstands, or even tai-chi or hip-hop dance moves by coordinating data from infrared sensors and gyroscopes.

Do I need to know English to use Alpha robots?

Minimum English language skills may be required to use both the app and the 3D programming software, as both are in English. However, the instruction manual supplied with the Alpha 1E robot explains the operation of the robot and the software in English.

How do I operate the robot via smartphone?

The Alpha series robots can be controlled via smartphone. An app can be downloaded to your smartphone to help you control the robot. To download, please search for "Alpha 1E" in the Apple APP Store or Google Play Store. The software for Alpha 1E is available on your computer and allows you to program new movement patterns for the robot. You can download the software at www.mzxrobotics.hu under Download.
